Although next in order of the conference rotation was the vicinity of Bratislava, we repeated the venue and the 20th anniversary of the conference was celebrated at the place where it all started in 2000.

Of 49 papers presented during the two lecture days, 39 were student lectures.

The third day was traditionally dedicated to a field trip which was focused mainly on localities of the Slovak Karst.

Localities: Zádiel Gorge, Meliata, Domica Cave, and wine tasting in the pleasant surroundings of the nearby Granarium (Jablonov nad Turňou).
The conference was organized by the Geological Club (Bratislava, Slovakia) in cooperation with PGI-NRI (Kraków, Poland), SNM (Bratislava, Slovakia), Uppsala University (Sweden), under the scientific guarantee of FBERG TUKE (Košice, Slovakia), AGH UST (Kraków, Poland) and PRIF UK (Bratislava, Slovakia).
The conference was organized under the auspices and with the financial support of the Slovak Commission for UNESCO and was also financially supported by the Slovak Geological Society and the Slovak Caves Administration.
